Further Details
Free Setup
We will set up and look after your domains, websites, databases and email accounts for you at no charge.
Disk Space
This is the amount of space in megabytes that your website takes up on the web server. Also
counted within your quota are unretrieved email messages and database space.
Data Transfer
The allocated limit of the total amount of outbound traffic from your website/s measured in gigabytes per month (visits
to and downloads from your website).
Also commonly referred to as "bandwidth", which is actually a rate (bytes per second) of outbound traffic.
Domains
You pay an annual fee for registration of your domain name, but in order to be visible on the
internet that domain name must be hosted on a web server.
Your hosting package will include provision for up to 10 different domain names, which we
will set up for you.
Sub Domains
Sub domains come free with all of our hosting packages and are of the form subname.yourdomain.com.
They are typically used to logically separate
distinct departments of a business website, and have all the features of regular domains, meaning you
can host completely separate websites on them.
news.google.com is a popular example.
Our own domains.zeta.com.au is another legitimate example.
Note however that subdomains are rarely warranted and have been used by scammers for non-legitmate purposes
(and search engines like google are aware of this),
so think seriously about whether you really need one before going ahead. It usually makes more sense to
separate your business departments within your main domain using sub-directories.
Email Accounts
A generous number of email accounts come with all of our hosting packages, so you can go ahead and give every staff
member or department an email address in your domain. Forwarding and auto-responding is also available.
ASP.NET websites
Zeta Tech uses ASP.NET technology to construct websites. This sort of website needs to be hosted on
a Windows Server with ASP.NET enabled. As part of your hosting package
you can also host any number of additional ASP.NET or HTML only websites.
SQL 2005 database
If your website needs to deal with a significant number of related records then you need a database. We can
program simple and small databases using xml, which is text based. However anything more significant will
require a separate
RDBMS of which there are many on the market. Zeta Tech programs with and uses SQL Server 2005.
SSL Certificate
SSL stands for "Secure Socket Layer", is recognizable by a lock symbol in the web browser, a "https" prefix
on a url, and prevents snooping and tampering of data transmission over the internet by third parties.
We can provide you with a high trust SSL certificate for secure e-commerce transactions or
whatever other secure business you may wish to do.
An SSL certificate is required if your website needs to collect sensitive information online, such as credit card details.

Visitor Statistics
As part of your hosting account, you will be given a statistics site which you can log into and view a useful analysis of
your visitors. Consider Google Analytics for
more in depth information.
Control Panel
We are happy to administer and maintain all aspects of your domain, website and hosting for you at your instruction,
but if you wish to make simple changes yourself you can have access to your space
via a secure control panel. Consider also Content Management options
