A little bit about me.
After an unexciting career in administration which was thankfully cut short
by retrenchment, I decided to study mathematics as I had always had an interest
in sums.
I graduated from Curtin Uni with first class honours in 1996. I then had two
children and while they were at preschool I did a Graduate Diploma in Computing
so that I could join Ron in the computing world, since he seemed to be having so
much fun. While studying I
explored all the open source web technologies like java servlets and jsp.
I have now moved to ASP/C#.NET.
I especially enjoy building dynamic database driven web applications, but I
also enjoy graphic design and am very happy to do simple websites that look
great. Simple doesn't have to be static though, there are many
simple ways to make your website look dynamic, please speak to me about this.
I'm really attracted to the ideals of accessiblity and usability on the web and
endeavour to produce standards valid code (where possible) and well structured
object oriented
applications that work across all major browsers. Having started out by hacking
out html in the nineties and then in recent years applying a much more
structured approach, I have found that sticking
to these standards does infact reduce development time, eliminate most errors
and make it extremely easy to change and add to the design of websites and
applications with minimal pain and reworking.
